Natural Healing Springs
The Mineral Springs Resort is proud to be Canada’s only seaside mineral springs resort, named by Indigenous settlers who first visited Salt Spring Island. In late 1970’s, while drilling for water, a spring was found, pumping at 20 gallons a minute, in a well 150 feet below the ocean floor. What at first was believed to be sea water, actually contained less than 10% of the salt found in the ocean. 21 minerals and trace elements were found after testing and today the water’s contents remain the same.
The mineral waters are high in magnesium, calcium, sodium and potassium. The unique alkaline composition helps to increase the permeability of the skin so that minerals can penetrate more easily the the underlying blood and lymphatic systems. The chlorides make the body more buoyant, helping lift spirits and ease joint fatigue. Guests rave about the water relieving dry skin and leaving it silky fresh, invigorated and toned. Some conditions which have shown to benefit from the water are arthritis, fibromyalgia, bursitis, muscle tension, tendonitis, and skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, among many others. Of the 14 minerals known to be essential to our body’s health, 12 are in our mineral springs at concentrations which meet the daily allowances by simply taking a bath. Another 9 minerals and elements commonly used in medical treatment for a variety of disorders are also present in therapeutic quantities.

The therapeutic effects of mineral water and baths have been used for centuries to help soothe, nourish, invigorate, and heal the body, The heated mineral water stimulates blood circulation, invigorating the skin, the largest organ of the body. We had an amazing time at Mineral Springs, I’ve been going there for over 20 years and it still maintains the same magic for me. The little A frame cottages are charming and clean. The jet tub is amazing. Grounds are well maintained. Except to have privacy, it’s a perfect romantic get away.
We stayed there for two nights and it was the best vacation ever. Comfortable bed, very clean, everything you need in the kitchen were there. It has a million dollar view. Great staff.
